The Long Golden Light  I agree entirely: September is a lovely time of year in Seattle, and—for all its consistent glory—most of us still affect surprise every time it's lovely. I myself feel I've gotten away with something when it's still and summery this late in the year, and I can change into shorts after lunch. As anyone who makes regular use of their snooze bar will tell you, purloined moments of luxury are by far the sweetest.
There is a fine argument to be made that September is the most outstanding month in Seattle. It just ought not be mistaken for Autumn. (Sun 29 September 2002, 11.04 PDT)     @ #
